Bella and Edward cult phenomenom

A FANFIC not written by me!!!

Ten years after Breaking Dawn, Bella returns to Forks for a sad occasion.

“Edward, I’m going! That’s all there is to it. I have to go!” The clothes I’d pulled out of the closet were folded and stacked in the suitcase before I even finished speaking.

“It’s too risky. The whole town will be there – someone will see you!” Edward was begging but I could hear the hint of defeat in his voice. He knew this was over.

“Carlisle thinks it will be safe enough. He trusts me, why can’t you?”

Edward’s carefully controlled calm face crumbled. “You think I don’t trust you?” he whispered. He pulled the suitcase from my hands and embraced me. I didn’t resist. “I’m only afraid for your safety, love.”

I swallowed hard. I didn’t want to fight. I wasn’t really angry with Edward, I was just taking out my shock and grief on him. “I know.” I pulled back to look at his face and those beautiful golden eyes that were now clouded with pain. “Come with me. I can’t do this without you.”

If the words hadn’t been the absolute truth, I wouldn’t have been able to speak them. I pleaded with my eyes as well as my voice. “Please, Edward? I need to do this, and I need you to be with me.”

The last shred of resistance left his eyes, as I knew it would. “I would never make you go alone. But Renesmee stays here. It’s one thing to risk exposing ourselves. She is another matter entirely.”

I nodded. “Of course. Thank you, Edward,” I whispered as I wrapped my arms around him again, wanting him to hold me tight. I squeezed my eyes shut as I crushed myself against his chest. The words flashed in front of me in the darkness. Chief of Police Charles Swan, 52, was killed in the line of duty Monday night…

Tearless sobs began to shake my body.

* * *

This was the first time in several years that I’d been back to Forks during the daytime. We’d driven all night to arrive here before dawn. If Edward had driven at his usual speed, we could have been here in less than two hours, but he seemed to sense my dread, despite my need to be here. We didn’t speak the entire car ride; words simply weren’t necessary. Edward held my hand the whole time, rubbing circles with his thumb.

When Edward pulled into curvy driveway of the deserted Cullen house, there was still an hour of darkness left before the sunlight would make it difficult for us to walk around town unseen. He pulled in as far as he could before the overgrowth of the surrounding vegetation all but covered the path. He looked at me and, again, no words were necessary. Hand-in-hand, we ran through the forest to find our cottage.

The gardens surrounding our cottage were overgrown with weeds, but the inside was just as we left it. It was still as magical as it had been the first time I saw it, ten years ago. It was home.

Edward lifted me into his arms and carried me to our old bedroom, our first bedroom. He laid me gently on the bed, stroking my hair as he lay beside me. I knew he was willing to just lay with me and hold me, but I couldn’t ignore the sparks of electricity that surged under my skin every place he touched me. I pressed my lips urgently to his, and he responded just as passionately. We made love slowly and softly that morning, yet somehow still full of the urgency we felt for each other.

He held me close afterwards. I wished for time to stop right here, right now. I wished that I could stay here, with Edward, in our own secret cottage, and never have to watch my father’s body being lowered into the ground. But reality was a necessary evil. I knew I needed closure on my father’s death, and I knew that it was time to go, before sunrise.

Forks Cemetery was backed by forest, where we waited out the remaining hours before the funeral was scheduled to begin. I could see the grave already dug in preparation. The tall trees would provide us shelter, but I hoped to be able to attend the funeral.

“Bella, you can’t be seen. You must stay in the forest.”

My fingers tightened on the wide brim of the black hat I’d brought with me. “No one will recognize me. The veil will cover my face and I’ll stay in the back. I’ll be just another mourner.”

“You will stand out and draw more attention to yourself,” Edward argued.

“They may wonder, but they won’t know who I am. That’s all that matters, isn’t it?”

Edward sighed. He knew he couldn’t win. If I wanted to be there, I would be, and he couldn’t stop me. I’d be covered from head to toe but he
wouldn’t be. He could only hope to change my mind.

In the end, it was a cruel twist of fate that kept me in the shadows of the forest. Only thirty minutes before the ceremony’s start time, the clouds parted and the sun shown brightly over the entire cemetery. Why, of all days, does it have to be sunny in Forks today? The veil would not hide the light reflecting off my face.

Edward felt me stiffen against him.

“I’m sorry, love,” he whispered in my ear.

“Why today? Today should be the gloomiest, rainiest day ever.” My voice cracked.

Edward wrapped his arms around me tightly. “Don’t think of it that way. Think of it as a reflection of Charlie’s soul, shining down on all of us.”

I turned to face him so I could bury my face into his chest. He always knew the words to say. I stayed like that, pressed against him, until I heard people gathering at the burial site. I turned my back to him to watch the ceremony, but I leaned against him for strength. He tightened his arms around my waist and held me close to him.

Edward was right; it looked like the entire town of Forks was here. But one person’s presence shocked me above all others. Right up front, near Reverend Weber, stood Renee. Phil’s arm was around her waist and it seemed as though he was holding her up. Never was I more grateful for Phil than I was in that moment.

I hadn’t seen my mother since the day of my wedding. The last ten years had taken the childlike quality out of her face. Tears streaked down from her eyes.

“She always loved Charlie, in her own way,” Edward whispered in my ear. “She’s thinking of you, too, and the last time she spoke to Charlie, almost a year after we disappeared. She wanted to believe that you were still alive somewhere, that you’d somehow survived the plane crash.”

I trembled against Edward. I remembered Charlie telling us about that argument they had. He’d hated having to lie to her, telling her I was dead. I hadn’t realized that was the last time they’d spoken to each other. I didn’t take my eyes off my mother’s face, nor did I pay attention to any of the words spoken.

I jumped when the bugle began to play “Taps”. Deputy Mark removed the American flag from the casket and folded it into a neat triangle with precision. I sucked in my breath when he presented the flag to my mother. The tears that had been silently flowing down her face came faster as she began to sob openly. Phil strengthened his hold on her and accepted the flag on her behalf.

I watched my father’s casket being lowered into the ground, and I sank to my knees along with it. Just like that, my father was gone. Like a rainbow, fading in the twinkling of an eye. Gone too soon…

The next time I looked up, I was sitting in Edward’s lap, deeper in the forest. His hand was rubbing my back, up and down, up and down, in a constant, soothing rhythm. The sky was already darkening.

“When it’s dark enough, I want to go to the house,” I said. My voice sounded rough.

For once, Edward didn’t argue with me. He knew, as I did, this would be my last chance to go to Charlie’s house. Neither of us was sure what would happen to the house and everything in it; we didn’t know if he’d changed his will since my alleged death seven years ago.
Everything would go to the state, probably to an auction, if I remained the sole beneficiary.

“It won’t be long now. The day is almost over.”

I lay my head back against his chest as he continued rubbing.

* * *

I opened the front door, as if nothing were different. Edward, however, scaled the front of the house and slipped through my old bedroom window. I paused in the doorway and watched him in awe, thinking about all the times he’d done that in the two years I’d lived here. He seemed to sense my questioning gaze.

“For old time’s sake,” he said simply from inside the house.

He was already beside me, wrapping his arm around me, as I closed the front door. I knew Charlie had been in this very kitchen just three days ago, however the air already felt stale, old, deserted.

I walked through the house slowly, as if in a daze. My eyes fell on the photos lining the mantle, especially the latest addition. It was a photo from my wedding. Charlie looked so handsome in his tuxedo. His arm was around my waist, in an awkward, yet sweet, way. I could see that he had been proud and happy, but sad at the same time. This was the last day Charlie had seen me as a human.

I felt a strange yearning to take this photo with me, even though I had the same one – and many more – at home. I felt a twinge of guilt as I realized I hadn’t bothered to unpack my wedding photos from our most recent move. There was something about this particular photo, though, the fact that it had been Charlie’s, that he had framed it and put it on display, that made me want to never let it go.

I set the photo on the kitchen table and walked upstairs. My old bedroom looked just the same it had last time I was here, just a few years ago when Renesmee spent the night at her Grandpa Charlie’s house. Faded human memories bombarded me but the one that I remembered the most was the morning after the day Edward had taken me to the meadow. I looked at the empty rocking chair in the corner, remembering how I’d felt when I saw him sitting there, realizing he had spent all night with me. I couldn’t help smiling as I thought about my reaction that morning, wanting so badly to be in his arms and yet feeling the need to brush my teeth.

Edward came up behind me and put his arm around my waist. “I almost miss watching you sleep, but I’m so happy with our life together now. I do miss your sleep talking, though.” He chuckled softly.

“I’ll bet you do,” I retorted as I playfully pushed him away. Talking in my sleep was one of many things I didn’t miss about being human.

I’d already taken everything I’d wanted to keep from my room years ago, so I walked across the hall to Charlie’s. It felt strange being in his room; I hadn’t been in here since I was a young girl.

On his nightstand was a picture of Renesmee. That Charlie would keep a photo of her, right next to his bed, made me smile. There were no other pictures of her in the entire house; he definitely understood the idea of keeping her existence a secret. I handed the picture to Edward; it couldn’t be left here for someone to ask questions about.

There was a small box on his dresser. I hesitated before opening the lid, pushing away feelings of guilt for invading Charlie’s privacy. I thought there might be some jewelry inside, or some other item of sentimental value. There was, indeed, some jewelry: a ring I’m sure belonged to my grandmother and a watch that probably belonged to my grandfather. I passed them along to Edward, who placed them carefully into his pocket.

Under the watch, there was a piece of paper, folded several times over. Pushing away those feelings of guilt again, I unfolded the paper and smoothed it out. I recognized Charlie’s scrawl right away. It was a letter he’d written, and it was dated August 12, 2006 – the day before my wedding.

Dear Bella,

I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday. It was one of the happiest days of my life. Not long after, your mother left and took you with her. You were gone too soon, I’d only just begun to get to know you although I loved you from the moment I knew your mother was pregnant. Every year, I looked forward to the two weeks we would spend together. They were the highlights of my year.

When you came to live with me, it was like your birth day all over again. My baby girl was coming home to me. I couldn’t have been more pleased to have you live here with me, even if I didn’t understand your reasons.

It’s never easy for a father to watch his daughter grow from his little girl into a beautiful woman, but time marches on and growing older is inevitable. I could not be more proud of the woman you have become. I am honored to have been able to be here with you these last two years.

Tomorrow you will walk down the aisle and I will have to give you away. Another man will have the privilege of watching over you every day. Once again, I feel you will be gone too soon. You’ve only just arrived, and yet you are ready to start your own family. I know Edward knows how lucky he is to have you, and I know he will take the best care of you he possibly can. I could see his love for you written all over his face on your very first date. Knowing you will be in such good hands is the only way I could let you go.

I love you, Bells. More than I could ever tell you.

Dad

I clutched the paper to my chest, heaving with sobs though my eyes were dry. Why had he never given me this letter? It was all the words he wanted to say, but couldn’t. The best part was knowing that he approved of my choice, that deep down he approved of Edward. Knowing that meant more to me than I ever dreamed possible.

Suddenly, Edward grabbed me around the waist and pulled me back into my old bedroom.

“Edward, what-?”

He clapped his hand over my mouth. “Shhh! Renee’s coming!” he whispered as the front door opened and the kitchen light flicked on.

He turned us so we could see out the window and still hide in the shadows. Phil was sitting in the car in the driveway. We couldn’t jump out of the window without being seen.

“She wanted time alone to grieve.” Edward whispered. “For Charlie…and for you.”

I couldn’t speak. Poor Renee. A kitchen chair slid against the floor.

“What’s this doing here?” Renee wondered aloud. Crap. I’d left the wedding photo on the kitchen table. “Oh, my Bella.” She began to sob.

I ached for her. I wanted nothing more than to go to her and let her see that I still existed, that I was here.

“She misses you so much,” Edward whispered. “She’s remembering how happy you were on our wedding day. She’s hoping you were just as happy when…” His voice cracked and he couldn’t finish the sentence.

I took advantage of his distraction, knowing I’d never be able to get away if I’d indicated my desire to see my mother. I ran down the stairs and stopped in the darkness of the living room, where she couldn’t see me. The speed from my running ruffled the curtains in the living room. Renee lifted her head from her hands. Her eyes, red from crying, were wide in surprise.

“Who’s there?” she called timidly.

I held my breath and stayed perfectly still, watching her. Her eyes passed right over me, but I knew it was too dark for her to see me.

“I know you’re there, I heard you.” Her voice was a little stronger now. “I’ve seen all those ghost shows, you know. You don’t frighten me, Charlie.”

I almost laughed. It was just like Renee to believe in ghosts, but it gave me an idea. Edward would be angry with me, but I had to do it. I had to ease my mother’s pain.

“I’m not Charlie,” I whispered.

Renee gasped, and her face went white. “Bella?! Honey, is that you?”

“Yes, Mom. It’s me.”

Tears formed in Renee’s eyes again, threatening to brim over. She began to stand; her knees were shaky. I took a step backwards, further into the shadows. “Can I see you?”

“No!” I said so quickly I forgot to whisper. My bell-like vampire voice did not sound ghostly at all. I regained my control and whispered, “I’m sorry, but you can’t see me.”

She sank back into the chair. “Have you been here the whole time, since…since…”

“No. I just came for today. And I can’t stay.”

Renee began to sob again.

“Mom, I need you to know…please don’t be sad for me. I’m in a happier place. I’m with Edward. I don’t regret anything. Be happy for me, not sad.” I struggled to get all the words out, but she needed to hear them.

“I love you, Mom.” I ran to her, kissed her cheek, and ran back up the stairs. I knew she would see nothing, only feel my cool breath on her cheek. If by chance she did see any kind of blur, it would only fuel her ghost theory.

I heard her gasp as my cool touch registered in her brain. “Gone so soon?” she whispered.

I stopped in the doorway of my room. Edward didn’t turn from the window, but I knew he knew I was there. I was glad; I didn’t want to see the anger in his face.

Renee stayed only a few more minutes, sobbing softly. “Thank you, Bella,” she whispered just before she closed the front door. After Phil turned the corner, Edward turned and held his hand out to me. I still refused to look him in the face, but I was eager to take his hand.
We jumped out of the window together and ran back to the cottage.

At the cottage door, I turned to him, still afraid to look in his eyes yet also desperately needing to. “Are you mad?”

“You cannot take risks like that, Bella, not even for Renee.” He sighed. “But I know why you did it. How could I be angry with you, with intentions so pure?”

He stroked my cheek, and I melted in his eyes.

“Let’s spend one more night here, and drive home tomorrow,” I whispered. The sight of our cottage and the way his eyes burned into mine brought my desire for Edward to the forefront despite the sadness of the day.

* * *

Edward presented me with a gift on the one-month anniversary of my father’s death. I raised my eyebrows. He knew how I felt about gifts.

“Just open it,” he said softly.

I peeled the paper off hesitantly. It took a minute for me to realize what was inside.  It was Charlie’s letter, encased in glass. I thought I’d left it in my bedroom in my haste to go to Renee.

“It’s preserved with the highest quality museum archival technology available today. We’ll keep it preserved as best we can as the technology improves, so that you may keep it for eternity.”

My voice caught in my throat. I hoped my eyes were able to tell Edward everything I was unable to.

“You once told me I was very lucky to have Carlisle and Esme as parents. You were just as fortunate to have Renee and Charlie. Charlie would have done anything for you. He was immensely grateful that he was able to be in your life after…after your transformation.”

I placed the letter down gently and threw myself into his arms. “Thank you, Edward,” I whispered when my voice finally returned. This, at least, would be one piece of Charlie that wouldn’t be gone too soon.

Virgo Clash! Chapter 3

Chapter 3

It was indeed a beautiful day for Thea. She did passed the interview and was pretty ecstatic about it. The interviewer was nice to her and didn’t gave her a hard time. She can’t stop smiling to herself knowing its only one step away to reaching her dreams. She hurriedly went home to inform her family and friends about the good news. She’s going to pack her things and buy a plane ticket. She has less than 1 week to prepare everything. Thea also needs to say goodbye to her friends and her family. It’ll be a busy week for her, she thought.

It’s almost 12 noon and she already emailed Mae and called her friend Jessie who works at a travel agency and booked for a plane ticket bound for Tokyo, Japan. There’s an available date and it’s gonna be 6 days from now, Jessie told her. “Okay., I’ll take it,Thea said. She then told Jessie she’s going to pick it up by 4pm and  invited her and the rest of the gang for a night out. “I have to hurry up now”, she thought. She’s almost done packing her things. Suddenly, the phone rings. It’s her mom. She heard the news from Thea’s grandma. She also mention that they’re going to have a farewell party for Thea’s departure 4 days from now. Thea said she’ll be there by next day before sunset. She has to finish all the things needed for her trip and also to say goodbye to her friends here in the city. She knows she’s going to miss them all. Thinking about it, she’s almost burst into cry. This isn’t the last I’ll see them. I’ll certainly see them every 18 months or so, she thought.

the next day….
On the way home to their farm, she saw her friends also on their way to Thea’s party. She buzzed them and wave at them. Her friends saw her and they waved back at her. She stopped the car and signaled them to hop inside the car. They happily jumped inside the car.It was her childhood friends. It was Juliet, Rina and Mark whom she had crushed on when they were younger. They lived just a few meters from their farm and they often spent their weekends playing in the field.

Thea: So, how are you guys? I really missed all of you. What are you been up to?
Juliet: Nothing much, Mark has passed the board exam last week! Top 3. Isn’t he amazing?
Mark: You really are one of a kind, Juliet! It wasn’t the right time for announcing that,  today’s her farewell party, you know…
Juliet: geez, sorry…
Thea: Really? wow!  I always knew you would excel in everything that you do. So what’s your plan?
Rina: He just got an offers abroad and even in Manila.
Mark: Hey, you guys…can we talk about that later?
Thea: Let them talk, Mark. I wanna hear it…I’m so proud of you. We all are.

Mark was slightly blushing when Thea said it. Mark has grown into fine and well built guy. His hair was black and falls into his brown eyes. Ever since when they were young, Mark has a special feeling for Thea but didn’t mind it that much. He doesn’t wanna ruin their friendship. Its too priceless just to end up just like that.

Thea stopped the car. She arrived at last. Her sister welcome them and told them to get inside the house.Thea went to the back of the car and took her bag and other things she bought for the party. Mark help her carry the things for her. Her grandma excitedly hugged Thea when she saw her.
Grandma: How was the trip? Are you tired?
Thea: I’m okey Lola. I really missed you so much…(she hugged back her grandma)
Grandma: Are you sure? Coz its too early. It’s only 2pm. The party starts at 7pm.
Thea: No its okey. Besides, my friends are here. We have so much to talk about now.
Grandma: ok…you say so.
Thea: Thanks for your concern, Lola. I’m sure gonna miss that …and she winks at her grandma.

Thea and her friends went to the back of the house. There were people already arranging the tables and the decorations. It was just a simple family gathering together with her friends. They went to the far side of the house. It was cloudy that afternoon. They sat down under the tree. It was their spot were they always hang out after school and on weekends. It sure brings back a lot of memories here…she thought.

Rina: so tell me, Yan (Thea’s petname) Are you not going to miss us?
Thea: of course, Im going to miss you guys. What kind of question is that? It makes me want to cry right now just by thinking about that… (and makes a frown on her face)
Juliet: You better call us at least once a month or e-mail us okey. I can go to Rina’s house to e-mail you or Mark’s.
Thea glanced at Mark and saw a little sadness in his eyes.
Thea: Are you going to miss me too? Are you going to miss me?(she said to get  Mark’s attention who caught her eye while saying it…
Mark: Seeing you right now, I already missed you… Uhmm…We already missed you. What more if you’re there?
Juliet and Rina: Correct!
Thea just smiled back. They talk a lot of things like they didn’t see each other for years.

the night of the party….

Thea changed into a simple light pink dress. Her friends went home to get dressed too. It was just 6:15 in the evening. The phone rang. It was her dad… He called to wish her good luck. He told Thea he deposited $5,500 to her account just in case she needed it there. She said thanks for the money…told he shouldn’t have bothered. They just talked for a couple of minutes and her dad said goodbye.
I’ll call you as soon as I arrived there, dad. Don’t worry. I’m a big girl now, Thea said. Ok, I love you daughter. Take care always. Bye and the other line went down before she could said…”I love you too dad” she thought with a little sadness in her face.

Virgo Clash! Chapter 2

CHAPTER 2

She keeps tossing and turning in her bed on the night before her interview. She has a lot of things that’s been bothering her lately. She’s been thinking what would it be like living alone in Japan without her grandma around. Without her mom or her brother and sister visiting her every now and then. It must be tough, on her mind. She can do this. She knows she’s going to miss them but she’ll get over it. The first month would be the hardest but after that she’s gonna fine. She assures herself she’s going to enjoy life, to see the country on her very own eyes, taste and smell the city. Oh, what a fantastic life it would be. She smiled without knowing what the future might be for her. She closed her eyes and forced herself to sleep. She has to prepare herself for the big day. Her interview…Yikes!

Thea woke up early in the morning filled with excitement. She’s pretty enthusiastic about it. She then went to take a bath and after prepared for her breakfast. This is the day, she said. I’m gonna be okay. Everything’s gonna be in the right place. I’m not gonna fail. I’m going to make it, she assures herself. She has fried fish, a cup of rice, an apple juice and piece of fruit for her breakfast. After the meal, she washed the dishes and prepared herself. She’s going to the embassy now. Her appointment time is 10 in the morning. She’s been waiting for this weeks ago and Thea can’t believe this is the day, her interview. It’s 8:44  in the clock. She grabbed her bag and look in the mirror one more time and took a deep breath. Yosh, she said. She hurriedly rushed off out of the house and she happens to see a taxi cab with a passengers. It was Mr. Diaz and his wife. Mr. Diaz is a seafarer. He often comes home every year. His wife must have picked him up in the airport, she thought. She smiled and waved the couple. They smiled in response. Thea signaled the taxi driver to return to her after he drop off the couple just two blocks away from her house. The driver nods to her. She can’t believed her luck, she thought.

The taxi driver arrived minutes later and she hopped inside the taxi with her fingers crossed. She then told the driver she should be in the Japanese Embassy in an hour or less if possible. The driver nods and smiled. While in the taxi, Thea was thinking about the interview and what are the possible questions. She should answer the questions with the best answers. She should not let fear controlled her or else she might not be able to go to Tokyo if she failed the interview. She thinks positively and  prayed she’s gonna be granted with the tourist visa. She already emailed Mae about the interview after Thea got the schedule of her interview. Her friend wishes her the best. She knows Thea could make it. You know you’re a feisty one, don’t you? Mae said in her e-mail. Mae is already been preparing her other room for Thea. She’s pretty excited too. At last , Thea’s 1 block away from the Embassy.  She puts a smile on her face and hope for the best. She will get that visa.

She paid the driver and gave him an extra tip. He was happy. The driver said thank you and wished her good luck. Thea smiled back and said thanks to the driver for it.  The taxi took off.  She took a step and smiled. This is it, she thought. The “make it or break it” moment of her life. She entered the building and asked the guard where she should go if she an interview.  The guard pointed her to the north building. She said thanks and she continue on walking to the north side of the Embassy. She was pretty and well dressed today for the interview. She looks confident with her business attire. She wore the black blazer with an off white chiffon blouse inside and paired it with a black slacks and a killer stilletos she bought especially for the interview. She knows she has to look good for this interview. She must impress the interview.

Inside the lobby of the north side of the Embassy, Thea found herself filled with other fellow visa applicants wanting to go to Japan too and waiting for their number to be called for the interview on the glass window counter.  She was #24. She sat down on a vacant seat patiently waiting for her number. “Number 15″ echoed on the audio speaker box on the upper right side of the 3rd counter. She straighten herself up and prepared in her mind the answers she was intend to say to the interviewer. I have to pass this interview, Thea said in her mind. She noticed each applicant, the amount of time for the interview was around 5 to 10 minutes and there were 5 interviewers. The next number called was 16, then 17 and 18 with 5 minutes interval prior to the previous number being called. Still, rehearsing in her mind the words she prepared. She already anticipated the possible questions and she’s been in this situation before when she went to see her dad and his family in UK. so she already knows the drill. It was 2 years ago and she spent her Christmas there.  ” Can you please come to the 5th counter # 21? ” echoed on the audio speaker box.  The lady who’s number was 19 was denied for a tourist visa. Maybe she don’t have all the complete requirements needed for the interview, she thought.  The number16, 17, 18 and 20 was granted. She felt great for them. ” #22 on 1st counter ” echoed on the speaker. Thea took a deep breath. Only 1 number left before her next turn. ” #23 on 4th counter please ” said on the speaker. She took one deep breath…inhale…exhale…inhale…exhale…she thought. Relax, i can do this, she said to herself. Alas! her number was being called.

She stepped up and walked to the 5th counter…she smiled to the interviewer and greeted her ” Konnichiwa.”
The interviewer seem pleased to hear it. She crossed her fingers, braved herself and hope for the best….This is it!

CHAPTER 1

It was almost 2 years ago since Thea decided to work in Japan. She was a beautiful, fair complexion and slim figured Filipina with a 1/8 part Spanish blood. A free spirited, gym freak, loves to read and wants to try and learn new things. She’s been dreaming to see what’s it like to be outside of her country. Her parents were separated even before she was born. She was the only child of her mom and her dad. Both of her parents had their own families now. She has siblings on her mother and also with her father. Thea’s father and his family live in England. She visits them once in every 3 years or sometimes her father comes home every 2 or 3 years. Thea’s grandmother, from her mother’s side, raised her in a small rural area outside the city. They owned a grape farm and supplied the city with their best harvest. She used to run around the farm when she was a little girl. She sometimes watches the grapes and scare all the birds who are trying to eat the fruit. Her grandmother told her not to eat the grapes because she might end up eating it all and no more grapes to harvest, said jokingly to Thea. She frowns in protest but gave her grandma a big smile, she kissed her on the cheek and say ” of course I’m not gonna eat it all Lola, i will leave some of it for you….said Thea and winked at her grandma. Grandma Remy just smiled unbelievably. Thea was a very playful and studious girl. She was such a cute little girl and everybody adores her. When she was 13 years old, her grandmother decided she should  transfer to the city to continue her studies there until college. The city offers the best school and her grandma wanted to give her the best. She just visited her grandmother twice a month since it’s only one hour trip from the city.

Right after she graduated from college, she works and landed as an office secretary in a Law firm. The job was pretty easy for her but after working there for more than 8 months, she isn’t happy anymore and decided to work abroad. She thought of a country just near the Philippines so  she could come home on Christmas every year. That country should have a lot to offer and a very fast paced one….Hmmp… Japan!!! She was thinking of Japan even before. Maybe because of the influence of Jpop, animes, mangas and Japanese dramas. Many of her friends were already living there. One of their family member works there and told her how beautiful Japan is. She can earn more if she will work hard for it. So she quit her job and later enrolled herself in Japanese class in preparation  for her dream of working in Japan. She did very well in her class even on her first day. She also bought an audio cd so she could listen to it at home and watch more animes and Japanese dramas for weeks on the internet. She also researched for the company ‘s background, what are the shows and dramas or the famous stars who works there. Thea’s a big fan of Clover Speaks!  The lead singer was Shuitachi Yamamoto. His fans simply called him Itamoto. Also, 6Charms, which lead by Kenji Nagataka or  his screen name “Kenji”. Shuitachi was a member of  a boy band, Clover Speaks! and they been in the showbiz for almost 6 years. He wrote some of their songs together with his close friend and band member Saturo. They started their band when they were 15 or 16 years old and made 7 hit albums and has over 9 hit songs who made it on #1 and most of the songs were on Oricon Chart for weeks. It’s a 5 member Jpop group and Shuitachi was the leader of Clover Speaks! The boys were famous for their good looks, acting, dancing and singing ability. They can also sell products from clothing brands to cellular phones to softdrinks. But Shuitachi has a lot of endorsements than the other members. He could also act and he’s always the lead actor. Kenji Nagataka or Kenji was launched  together with his other 5 group members 2 years prior to the debut of Clover Speaks! Their band name was 6Charms. They had 4 albums and even sings for the OST of some animes and  tv dramas. They also had songs who made to Oricon Chart on #1 for weeks. They can sing, dance and play instruments very well and has starred in dramas already with either 1 or 2 of their other band members. They’re also product endorsers of a certain cellular phone company, perfume line and a famous clothing brand overseas. They’re all good looking and has a great taste in fashion. The 2 jpop boy bands were famous in Japan as well as overseas. Their hit songs often competes in Oricon Charts ever since Clover  Speaks! were launched. Thea often dreaming of them and what it’s like to meet them in person. If only she could meet her them all…
The next day, she went to many recruitment agencies and inquired if there’s any available jobs in Japan. She thinks that this experience will be the greatest thing to happen in her life. She could finally see the world, well Japan exactly.  But every time she goes to the agencies, the only jobs available for Japan was being an entertainer/singer/dancer. And she isn’t good at any of those! So she went home, sad and thinking how hard it would be to be able to go there without anyone who could help you…Alas! Mae! Her high school friend who’s been there ever since they graduated from high school. They exchanged emails every now and then. Why didn’t she think of her before, her thought. How foolish of her to have forgotten her friend. She hurriedly opens her laptop and e-mailed Mae about  her wanting to work abroad and asked if there was any hiring for a foreign worker where she was working. She was excited and can’t wait for Mae’s response.

It’s been over 3 weeks and she hasn’t heard anything from Mae. She felt sad but still determined she will go to Japan no matter what it takes. Finally after waiting for 5 weeks, she got an e-mail from Mae. It stated on her e-mail that her company was recently looking for more than 30 foreign workers, preferably from Philippines. Filipino workers were known abroad for being patience, hardworking and jolly in the work place. Mae works in a TV station in Tokyo. Mae said that her company are willing to hire competent workers. It doesn’t  matter if she applied  in the Philippines or she applied personally there in Japan using a tourist visa. The TV station is willing to sponsor any workers who are best for the job description. But if she will apply in her country, it’ll take more than six months for her to be able to go there. She then decided, she will take a big risk and apply for a tourist visa and then, if she will be granted with the tourist visa, she will apply to the TV station personally.  She should act fast to get the job for her. She e-mailed Mae back that she will apply for a tourist visa and will be there in a month or so. She crossed her fingers and took a deep breath and say ” I am the ruler of my own world, I make my own destiny and I’m gonna make it happen”.

She already gathered all the necessary requirements for her trip to Japan and already informed her grandma about it weeks ago. Her grandma told Thea she should go for it and not to worry about her because her mom will visit her on weekends and she will ask her 2 younger brother and sister to stay and visits her on weekends. She was worried about her grandma at first but felt glad her grandma understood and wanted her to grab the chance and experience it. She thanked her grandma for supporting her no matter what her dream is. Thea hugged her grandma and kissed goodbye.

She still goes to her Japanese class everyday. It was a 4 hour class from 8 in the morning until 12 noon. After the class, she goes home to take a rest for an hour or two so she could go to the gym by 3 pm. At night, she does her homework and continue on studying. She did extremely well now on her class and she finally managed to submit her tourist visa application in the Embassy. She’s ready to go…well, almost, except for a Visa interview! Her schedule for her interview is less than two weeks from now. She then panics and wonders if she will fail the interview, what would she do now? She can’t fail now, she invested so much in it, her time, she even study Japanese lessons… she can’t accept failure. Failure isn’t in her dictionary. She must have the visa…she must, her thought.

Love

The beginning of love, is to let those we love be perfectly themselves and not twist them with our own image — otherwise, we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them? The happiest people don’t necessarily have the best of every-thing…they just make the most out of everything that comes their way.

The best kind of friend is the one you can sit on a porch with, never saying a word and then walk away, feeling like that was the best conversation you’ve had.

Don’t go for looks — it can deceive.

Don’t go for money — even wealth fades away.

Go for someone who makes you smile, because only a smile makes a dark day seem bright. Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched and those who have tried. For only they can appreciate the importance of the people who have touched their lives.

Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion and the romance… and you find out you still care for that person. Love comes to those who still hope even though they’ve been disappointed, those who still believe, even though they have been betrayed and those who still love even though they’ve been hurt before. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people, before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the right person, we should know how to be grateful for that gift. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return. But, what is the most painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let the person know how you feel. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past … you can’t go on in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they’ll love you back! Don’t expect love in return, just wait for it to grow in Their hearts. But, if it doesn’t, be content it grew in yours. There are things that you would love to hear, but you never hear it from the person you want to. Don’t be deaf to hear it from the person who says it with their heart.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you are smiling and everyone around you is crying.

When one door of happiness closes, another opens. But often we look so long at the closed door, that we don’t see the one which has just been opened for us.

Always put yourself in the other’s shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too. A sad thing about life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you … only to find out in the end, that it was never meant to be and you just have to let go.

It takes a minute to have a crush on someone … an hour to like someone…a day to love someone…but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

Love starts with a smile, develops with a kiss and ends with a tear.
